Dr. Rick Sessoms Called As New MentorLink President
Dr. Stacy Rinehart, founder and International Director, is pleased to announce that Dr. Rick Sessoms has accepted the call to be the new President of MentorLink International. Dr. Sessoms has served in pastorates, as vice-president of a Christian college and,most recently, as a key leadership developer for TransWorld Radio.
Rick and Stacy met while working on several leadership initiatives for the Lausanne Committee’s Leadership Development Working Group.
In an announcement to long time colleagues and supporters, Rick noted, “The dawning of the twenty-first century has brought the world much, much closer. However, along with the benefits of globalization, we have also seen world tensions rising due to the unprecedented interplay of politics, religion, and worldviews.
“This new global context will need a new breed of Christian leader. This leader will need to demonstrate undivided loyalty to the person and mission of Christ. Businesses, Christian organizations, governments, and educational institutions need leaders who lead like Jesus rather than the power brokers of their cultures if they are to fill vital roles as ambassadors of reconciliation in these times.
“MentorLink International is developing leaders around the world to lead like Jesus by using Christ’s strategy of multiplying Himself in key leaders. Their commitment to partnerships and equip and release practices come straight from Jesus Christ’s pattern. The outcome is not only vibrant communities with Christ-like leaders but a renewed sense of mission to take the model to neighboring regions and nations. I am excited to be a part of this character-transformation model of leadership development that is passed on in caring mentoring relationships. I look forward with eager anticipation to the potential of many thousands of leaders who live and lead like Jesus and catch the vision to multiply leaders in the way Jesus did.”
Stacy noted, “I am a catalytic launcher and early stage builder of ministries. For MLI to move forward, different gifting is needed in the top level of the movement. Rick will take the ministry to the next level. Once the transition is complete, I will focus on innovation of new ministry aspects, chair the Board and act as an ambassador for the movement.”
At a recent meeting, several of MLI’s international leaders prayed over Stacy and Rick, blessing and releasing Stacy into his new role and affirming their support for Rick as God’s choice to lead MentorLink International into its new frontiers.
