Africa Initiative Launched
MentorLink, Partners International and members of the Lausanne Younger Leaders Forum hosted two weeks of training in Senegal and Cameroon. Strategic leaders from the nations of Niger, Ghana, Mali, Liberia, Mauritania and Nigeria joined their Senegal counterparts in catching a vision for multiplying leaders in the pattern of Christ. Most of these leaders minister in heavily Islamic areas.
Rene, the host partner from Partners International, preceded the ministry with a seven day fast. He sought God’s favor for the Spirit’s ministry to transform the lives of these leaders in West Africa. The leaders in this region are overwhelmed with responsibilities of not only ministry but basic survival. Comparing their leadership practices with those of Jesus through the teaching of Stacy, Phil Arendt (PI) and Gary Franklin, these good men and women were broken by the Spirit in the right places. They experienced the freedom of sharing their inner lives with one another – some for the first time. Clyde Hodson, ML Prayer Director, led them in a time of prayer confession, deliverance focusing on deliverance from cultural strongholds and Gary Franklin moved them into receiving the grace that is theirs in Christ through the New Covenant.
Please continue to lift up these brothers and sisters. They labor under some of the most extreme difficulties we have ever seen as a team. We hope to return in May of 2008 for additional training and continue the formation of national or regional teams. Pray for the men and women of God’s choosing to be raised up, protected and affirmed in the roles He has called them to.
