MentorLink Names Latin America Mentor-at-Large: Dr. Frank Hankins
For over two decades as a missionary based in Ecuador, Frank Hankins has focused on leadership development through mentoring relationships. His influence was felt in one-on-one relationships, training pastoral teams, writing curriculum and developing schools for lay leaders. Dr. Hankins has taught on pastoral ministry and leadership development in eight Latin American countries as well as serving as a web-based instructor with Fuller Seminary’s Master of Arts in Global Leadership.
In partnership with his Peruvian colleague Wilmer Villacorta, Frank launched the Network for Developing Latin Leaders (www.ndll.net), a cross-organizational, regional ministry. His has a long-standing friendship with Dr. Rick Sessoms, President and International Director of MLI. Frank and his wife Ruthie found they resonated with the Transformational Goals of MentorLink and when the Lord opened the opportunity to join with the ministry in late 2007, they readily accepted.
Rick notes that not only does Frank possess a gentle spirit and unswerving commitment to the Transformational Goals, but he brings noted expertise in leadership development.
Dr. Steve Irvin, MLI Latin America Coordinator, is excited about the possibilities that the future holds with Frank on the team:
“Frank brings to MLI not only a wealth of experience in mentoring leaders, but also a significant background in teaching mentoring principles at different levels in Latin America in order to prepare leaders to mentor others.
