“The Holy
Spirit is given to the believer to be and
to do everything in him that God wants him
to be and do. The Spirit is given to him
especially as the Spirit of prayer and supplication.
Is it clear that everything in prayer depends
on our trusting the Holy Spirit to do His
work in us? We must yield ourselves to His
leading and depend only and entirely upon
Him.”

Plans
Aug 28, 2009
I have been pondering the mystery of planning in the last few days. I plan, sometimes with great thoroughness. I work things out in my mind. We talk about our plans among our team or family and decide on a direction or action steps. I pray and consult the Lord the best I know how regarding these plans. I am sure you know what I am talking about.
But then reality happens. Things go differently than planned. Things unfold with surprises, twists and turns. Sometimes things turn out better than you planned and sometimes just the opposite. But things never go exactly as planned.
“The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps (Prov 16:9).” Abba longs to be gracious to us. He directs our steps. I pray, plan and then trust in His loving guidance.
In this time, so many of our longstanding plans have not happened as we planned (financial, career, ministry, retirement or whatever). We continue to plan but we see with greater clarity that the Lord is the One who directs our steps.
Today, commit your plan to the Lord and sit back and watch what He does. Thank Him that He really is Lord and He really is in charge. Praise Him that He loves you and longs to be gracious to you.
Enjoying Him, Dr. Stacy Rinehart
