“The Holy Spirit is given to the believer to be and to do everything in him that God wants him to be and do. The Spirit is given to him especially as the Spirit of prayer and supplication. Is it clear that everything in prayer depends on our trusting the Holy Spirit to do His work in us? We must yield ourselves to His leading and depend only and entirely upon Him.”

  He Is Good
Sep 25, 2009

If you are around me when I pray, you will often hear me thank Him because He is good. “How great is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You, which You have wrought for those who take refuge in You, before the sons of men” (Psalm 31:19).

I have seen it over and over again where an event or circumstance seems to be difficult or even evil, yet in the long run or looking at it from another perspective, you can see the good God brings from it.

Abba is good. I rest in this. His goodness is beyond my understanding.

This week our three grandchildren are staying in our house as our daughter and son-in-law look for a house to move into. I often put my arms around one of the grandchildren and hug them. It is a joy to me to give them good things, to love them and just hold them.

Abba is like this toward us. He longs to show His love and goodness toward us.

Today, thank Him for His goodness toward you.

Because He is good,
Stacy Rinehart
