“The Holy Spirit is given to the believer to be and to do everything in him that God wants him to be and do. The Spirit is given to him especially as the Spirit of prayer and supplication. Is it clear that everything in prayer depends on our trusting the Holy Spirit to do His work in us? We must yield ourselves to His leading and depend only and entirely upon Him.”

  A True Hero
Nov 14, 2009

I just read an e-mail asking for prayer from my dear friend, Benvictor who lives in Cameroon. I was so touched by it that we have made it the focus of prayer this week.

He and his wife are like many pastors around the world that sacrifice to serve their risen King and His Kingdom.

It is the Benvictors of this world that are the real heroes. So often we in the church world look to the leaders with the big organizations or churches. McDonald’s and Coke are worldwide and they got there without spiritual means. Many pastors and large ministry leaders are just like McDonald’s and Coke. Bigness does not mean the Spirit has brought it about.

But the Benvictors of this world are the real thing. They may not get the acclaim of man, but before God they are champions of the faith. Pray for Benvictor and his wife Juliet.

You may also know of a “Benvictor” in your world who reflects Jesus and is carrying his or her cross for the King of Kings. Pray for them as well.
