“The Holy Spirit is given to the believer to be and to do everything in him that God wants him to be and do. The Spirit is given to him especially as the Spirit of prayer and supplication. Is it clear that everything in prayer depends on our trusting the Holy Spirit to do His work in us? We must yield ourselves to His leading and depend only and entirely upon Him.”

  It’s All About Jesus
Jul 07, 2009

As I look at the prayer requests above, I remain amazed at what He is doing in our midst. Those of us in the MentorLink network, come together with one focus: to help leaders lead more like Jesus. Being more like Him is our first task and leading more like Him in our dealings with people is what we are about. It is really simple.

One thing I find is that Jesus prayed regularly. This fact spurs me on to be more like Him in my prayer life. I fall short of what I think He wants of me many times, but the model and focus remains clear, I want to be more like Jesus in all of my life.

The fact that you are reading this and co-labor with us in prayer means this is also part of your heart. There is little complexity in being like Jesus. This goal requires no degrees, special gifting or special training. It only requires a heart to follow Him and be more like Him.

Looking to Him,

Dr. Stacy Rinehart
