“The Holy
Spirit is given to the believer to be and
to do everything in him that God wants him
to be and do. The Spirit is given to him
especially as the Spirit of prayer and supplication.
Is it clear that everything in prayer depends
on our trusting the Holy Spirit to do His
work in us? We must yield ourselves to His
leading and depend only and entirely upon
Him.”

No Formulas
Jul 31, 2009
I spent several hours with a talented young man this morning. He is so full of passion to serve the Lord with his whole heart. He has many gifts and insights.
We spent a few minutes talking about parenting. He has a two year old daughter and Paula and I have young grandkids. We discussed how each has a different personality and different needs and likes. Parenting necessitates treating each as a distinct person and nurturing the gifts and interests within each child.
Our Father is the same toward us. He knows our inmost being as Psalm 139 says. He knows us inside out. He loves us and nurtures us. He likes us and wants to relate to us as a parent does his child.
There are no formulas in how He relates to us. Nor are there formulas in how we relate to Him. Ask Him how He wants to show you His love today and how you can respond to His love. Today, thank Him for the fact that He loves you and wants a relationship with you.
Seeking to walk with Him, Dr. Stacy Rinehart
