MentorTrek Welcome

Web Assisted Mentoring (WAM)

MentorTrek™

WHAT IS THE MENTORTREK™?

The MentorTrek™, developed by Myles Lorenzen, is used in Web Assisted Mentoring (WAM) . The MentorTrek™ graph is portrayed as a circle graph and it is one of the key tools of MentorLink.org to help individuals grow in walking with Jesus and help them in a unique ‘journey’ of spiritual growth.

The MentorTrek circle graph contains 13 relational areas indicated by unique icons and each relational area is broken down into 5 Stages of Growth starting with Servant Leader and ending with Leadership Mentor.

HOW TO USE THE MENTORTREK™?

The MentorTrek™ graphic is interactive (you will be able to click many areas in it) which will enable you to

1. search resource center articles.
2. define which areas you need mentoring.
3. define what areas you are able to provide mentoring.

The MentorTrek™ Symbol Chart explains the 13 icons that appear in the MentorTrek™ circle graph.

We advise that you print out the overview tutorial, MentorTrek™ graph and MentorTrek™ symbol chart in order to gain a better understanding of the MentorTrek™. As a mentor or mentee, it is key to understand these components of the MentorTrek™. The overview tutorial, MentorTrek™ graph and MentorTrek™ model can be found in the links in the left navigation bar of this page.

WHAT IS THIS GRAPHIC?

STAGES OF GROWTH

This graphic represents the five stages of growth in mentoring:

Honest Seeker - honestly explores the relevancy of the gospel
Growing Believer - experiences life change from inside out
Ministering Believer - utilizes spiritual gifts to serve others
Servant Leader - influences others for ministry
Leadership Mentor - mentors others leaders to become more effective

Our orientation will help you understand the five stages of mentoring.

Myles Lorenzen
Myles and Carol Lorenzen live in Atlanta, GA and have 2 children. Their home church is Fellowship Bible Church of Roswell, GA.

Myles and Carol have served with World Team International in order to help train and mentor a new generation of leaders worldwide for twenty years.

Myles brings to MentorLink forty years of ministry experience; both as a layman in the Navy and business; and vocationally as an evangelist, pastor, church planter and international leadership developer.

The Lorenzens were on loan to the CoMission, helping train 1700 lay people, sent out by over a dozen agencies, to minister short term in the former Soviet Union. In over 2500 schools in 52 of its largest cities, the gospel went out to hundreds of thousands. An estimated 7.5 million school students were exposed to the Gospel through the Christian Ethics & Morality Curriculum. Thousands of the teachers who were trained in it are still passing it on. The result has been a 'God-thing;'one of the greatest examples of faith partnership and lay ministry mobilization in two thousand years of church history. Myles calls this grand experience the 'ministry ride of a lifetime'.
